Special Education

“To fulfill your mission, therefore, you must lay its foundations in a way consistent with our Christian identity; establish means appropriate for the quality of study and research; and pursue goals in harmony with service to the common good.” ~Pope Francis

Learning Differences in Education

Non-public schools in particular often struggle to accommodate children with anxiety, dyslexia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other learning differences. It can be difficult for families to find a school where their student is welcomed and given an optimal opportunity to thrive.

At The Academy, we are dedicated to ensuring every child in our diverse and inclusive community has an equally superlative Catholic school experience. As such, we are equipping our schools with the tools and resources to meet the needs of all of our students, including those with learning differences.

Katherine Gaudet (on right), an accomplished educator and steadfast champion of students with learning differences, serves as our Director of Special Education. She is leading efforts to develop and refine a learning differences program that enhances the giftedness of every child.

We have also hired special education teachers with expertise in working with children with learning differences. In addition, all our faculty receive ongoing training on how best to foster these students’ learning and help them achieve their potential.
